The room/bathroom are immaculately clean. The location was perfect for my itinerary. I was traveling on my own and stayed there for 2 nights. I felt very safe and welcome. Check in was easy, the heater was already on in my room, which was much appreciated given the temperature that day. I was served a nice dinner even though I got there almost at the end of service. Very accommodating. Breakfast was provided in the room for the next day, because I had to leave the hotel before breakfast buffet service began. Again – very much appreciated. Overall great experience…

The hotel is ideally situated at the edge of town close to the junction of the main road. A very welcoming and helpful host will meet you on arrival. He is a wealth of knowledge about local facilities and things to do and has contacts at all the local tour operators to make sure your trips go smoothly. He doesn’t just tell you who to contact but he does it himself and makes sure your day starts well. A great place to stay and tour the local area.

Whilst on a business trip I had available a few extra days of annual leave and chose to visit Tasmania. The Comfort Inn Queenstown was an ideal location due to its proximity to many recreational activities. This proved to be an inspired choice as the hotel was tremendous, the staff all went out of their way to provide every assistance and the facilities were all that one could ask for.

Guest from Spreyton, Tasmania

The older style units have been refurbished well and the linen was first rate. The manager and staff were very helpful in accommodating our needs. The dinner and breakfast were wholesome country style food and of a high standard. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Guest from Melville, Western Australia

Bernie and staff are warm, friendly and thoroughly professional, always providing a positive experience. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the restaurant provides excellent options for meals (Breakfast and Dinner). Highly recommended.

Guest from Somerset, Tasmania

This hotel stands below the most imposing mountain edifice in Australia. It is attractive, modern and spotlessly clean. Surrounded by rugged peaks and splendid rain forest, it is like stepping into a scene from The Sound of Music. The owner doesn’t greet you with singing, but she is a cheerful, friendly, warm and inviting lady who establishes an easy and comfortable rapport immediately. A breath of fresh air in today’s world! The hotel building stands its own ground between the mountains. Striking white with brownstone quoins. The rooms are lovely. Modern with a twist of warm timber, befitting the mountain…

Guest from Boorowa, New South Wales

Our room was quiet, clean, comfortable and specious for 2 . Very comfortable bed, good heating in the room. The basic kitchen facilities were wonderful, so nice to be able to prepare and eat breakfast, as well as the picnic style dinner we had brought with us.

Guest from Hobart

The motel manager is more helpful in booking, adjusting for the booking. He is a kind person who look after the visitors as his own relatives. I was sole traveller and his hospitality in the motel make me bit stronger. I highly recommend this place

Guest from Seabrook, Victoria

Friendly, laid back and clean, no unnecessary or wasteful extras, excellent place to stop over and accessible to those needing wheelchair access.

Guest from Footscray, Victoria

We stayed one night at this motel. The room was extremely clean, spacious and very well appointed. The shower and bathroom were very clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. The rooms are very quiet at night and we could not fault our stay at the motel. Highly recommended.

Guest from Newcastle

I travel a lot with work from big cities to little country towns. Everything is relative but this is a truly fantastic country motel with owners who really care about you and their business. Can’t recommend the gold rush highly enough.

Guest from North Sydney, New South Wales

The hotel was a lovely place in Queenstown. Only a 15-minute walk into the main street of town and the staff were lovely, especially the young lady in the restaurant.

Guest from Queanbeyan, New South Wales

The stay at the Comfort Inn Gold Rush was simply fantastic. Very helpful people who enjoyed you being their. Brilliant clean rooms etc. Service was excellent. I would highly recommend this Motel.

Guest from Launceston

The room was excellent for the price, bed was as comfortable and room well appointed. Manager / owners more than helpful made to feel very welcome.

Guest from Newcastle

Location was quiet, may have been due to the off peak time of year. Room warm, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Option to open the restaurant for breakfast was given to us but we choose to eat the supplied breakfast in our room. Front desk very helpful and knowledgeable. Recommended.

Guest from Tasmania

Fantastic stay at the Gold Rush. You couldn’t ask for a cleaner and more comfortable room. The place was fully kitted out with everything we could want and the beds were super comfortable and had electric blankets. Bernie was really helpful and the hotel is only a minute from the centre of town. Would definately stay again.

Guest from Tasmania

We were worried when we pulled into reception.. The place looked rather dodgy from the outside. Our room was incredibly clean, had everything we needed except the broken hotel wide wifi. The food options suggested to us were not our thing at all – lucky we had done our homework.. We did find the silver hills motel restaurant to be absolutely delicious! Warning Supermarket trolleys will start rattling around way too early in the morning by staff getting started on their cleaning duties (the only real down side for us) everything else was just great!!

Guest from Brooklyn, New South Wales

Recently renovated. Very comfortable. On site parking but can get crowded. Clean and tidy. Wheelchair access rather good compared to other places we have stayed in Tasmania.

Guest from Newcastle, New South Wales

Beautifully clean and well appointed room. Everything you could need in a well stocked kitchenette. Comfy bed and very warm room on a couple of stormy nights. Room service continental breakfast was served on time and was exactly as described. The motel is a credit to the Management and staff. My first stay, but will not be my last stay ๐Ÿ™‚

Guest from Seven Mile Beach, Tasmania

Although a little on the dated this hotel provided a great sized room with the bonus of a continental breakfast. It is clean, has kitchenette facilities and provides all that is needed for a night or 2.

Guest from Elanira, Queensland

The managers were very understanding when an unexpected event delayed our arrival by one day. Our queen plus single bed unit was perfect. The queen bed was very comfortable. The unit is small but well designed, with room for a table and chairs, a spacious wardrobe, a little kitchen, and a bathroom with a bathtub/shower. WiFi was fast.

Guest from Glenelg North, South Australia

After a long and hard drive through the mountains it was wonderful to be greeted by the Manager of the Gold Rush Motel in Queenstown who runs the best motel in the west. Would absolutely stay there again.

Guest from Albany, Western Australia

Very comfortable here for two nights. Free wifi and kitchenette made for a good stay. A little out of town but didn’t text the quality of our stay. Happy with the quality for the price we paid.

Guest from Sydney

The staff are wonderful and eager to meet your every need. The food is amazing every single time. The rooms are warm and cosy. The surrounds are neat and pretty. I feel safe and secure. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Queenstown, Tasmania. It is a home away from home.

Guest from Cranbourne, Victoria

We spent the weekend in Queenstown for The Unconformity, a biennial festival. Our host was very accommodating and courteous, the room was clean and comfortable and the location was central but in a quiet spot. Perfect.

Guest from Devonport, Tasmania

Once again great service from the staff, great breakfast and clean comfortable rooms. I will definitely be stay here on my next trip up.

Guest from Margate, South Australia

The property was clean and very comfortable, had a little kitchenette and had everything we needed. The Manager was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Guest from Woodcroft, South Australia

The Comfort Inn Queenstown was great. It was easy to find and book and is located not to far from the town centre. The room was a good size and very comfortable and had a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. Check in was easy and information about the local grocery store and places to eat was provided without out being asked. When we said where we were headed the next day we were given advice on an alternate route that would show some spectacular countryside and shorten the journey. Overall a great place to stay and we would stay…

Guest from Howard Springs, Northern Territory

This motel is spotless, well maintained, super clean and a pleasure to stay at. Staff were welcoming on arrival and most helpful with any questions we had about the area. I would not hesitate to recommend this motel to friends and family. See you next time.

Guest from Tasmania

An excellent comfortable stay in a relatively quiet town. Stayed here overnight to do the 9 am-1 pm Wilderness railway tour. Bernie hotel manager a most excellent host and very helpful in places to eat in town. Try the Mount Lyell hotel for Thai/Australian food for dinner and the nearby IGA food store for cheeses and other Tassie nibbles, excellently stocked. Ordered breakfast to rooms Continental & cooked, all delicious. Thanks, Bernie & staff for making our stay comfortable.

Guest from Tascott, New South Wales

Beds were comfortable, the room was adequate and the facilities were good. Nice and clean. A little pricey.

Guest from Brisbane, Queensland

Great place to stay, clean friendly accommodation in Queenstown. although the town itself is a disappointment, a lot of empty shops and looks a bit run down, which is such a shame. would recommend this hotel.

Guest from Brisbane, Queensland

I had stayed at this motel many times through my work as a traveler around 25 years ago and was delighted to find that everything was just as good if not better.

Guest from Legana, Tasmania

A convenient, clean, comfortable experience. The shower was high pressure, the bed was comfortable. Helpful service. I will return and I would recommend this accommodation. The internet images are accurate. It was as I expected.

Guest from Hobart, Tasmania

Excellent-clean, well appointed, friendly hosts, room service breakfast included.

Guest from Canada

We enjoyed 2 nights at the Comfort Inn in Queenstown, Tasmania. The room was well decorated and the beds comfortable. The kitchenette came with a good supply of crockery and utensils and we were able to cook a simple meal both at dinner team and at breakfast. Staff were helpful and gave us tips on what to see and do.

Guest from Dorchester

This hotel is an updated version of a 50s or 60s motor inn. A little quirky, a little spartan but not bad. The beds were comfortable, the room was very clean, the staff was very nice. The kitchenette area was minimally stocked with cutlery, glasses, and plates (two of each) but it worked. Our reservation says that they include breakfast but they do not- they do provide a little milk for coffee and a couple packages of cookies. They also showed a laundry on the property but it was closed down. Due to the cold and rain the heater was…

Michelle

A very good motel for a short stay. Good and comfortable beds, good speed free wifi.

Guest from Kahibah, New South Wales

Chose this hotel to stay at for work in the area. Clean and tidy rooms and great value for the money. Check inn pleasant and no hassle. Also helpful for local information. Disappointed there was no onsite restaurant/ bar at time of my visit for dinner and drinks. Had a short drive into town. Overall a good experience and will stay again when in this area.

Guest from Brighton, Tasmania

Hotel was nice, quiet and staff friendly could use softer beds and not a fan of the dispensers but overall a pleasant stay.

Guest from Sheidow Park, Southern Australia

The hotel is dated, but I was impressed with its cleanliness and the fact that everything worked. Beds were comfortable (just right). A good place to stay for a couple of nights.

Jimbo – North Rockhampton, Queensland

Great value, clean and friendly service. Bernie at front desk provided valuable local information. The cafe he recommended us on way to Cradle Mountain was as lovely as he described. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in- better than some 5 star hotel!!!

Guest from East Lindfield, Newcastle

Good quiet room and area to stay. Good motel for a short stay.

Guest from Dunkeld, Victoria

The best accommodation in the area. We stayed in a large room with a small kitchenette. The bathroom had a bath with shower.

Great place to stay in Queenstown! A lovely place to stay – very friendly and helpful owner. Highly recommend!

Guest from Hobart, Tasmania

We travelled by bike around Tassy and experienced wonderful hospitality at the gold rush inn. The manager took care of every wish. He even drove us at the mountain since it was raining like hell. Thanks again and to everybody out there, we highly recommend this place, not only the manager was great but also the room was modern and cozy.

This motel reminded me of motels I used to stay in with my parents many years ago. Typical old style Australian motel with absolutely nothing you could fault inside. Spotlessly clean, really comfortable bed, warm, kitchenette with everything we needed, quiet… Lovely friendly man at reception. Had only driven through Queenstown before, enjoyed being there. Did have a Wild West feel. Highly recommended.

Sharon

We had a very comfortable one night stay at this very nice hotel located just outside the town of Queenstown Tasmania. Our room was spacious, very clean, and had a nice kitchenette. Beds were very comfortable and we had a quiet night’s sleep. The owner was very accommodating, making suggestions on things to see and do in the area, restaurants, and brought us continental breakfast in the morning. We couldn’t have asked for more.

David and Denise

I am old enough to remember when motels were new to Australia and were something of a novelty. This motel would have been built many years ago but you wouldnโ€™t know itโ€” immaculately clean with a really comfortable bed and a functional kitchenette.obviously renovated and repainted not so long ago. We spent two nights here and could not fault it with owner Bernie going out of his way to help us.

Longhaven

Bernie was very welcoming and always checking that everything was ok. The rooms were fantastic, so clean, first time we have seen such cleanliness in a Motel ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ The restaurant was also fantastic, lovely home cooked meals and very reasonably priced. Will recommend this Motel most definitely. ๐Ÿ™‚

Margit Cardell

It was very clean and self contained. The food in the restaurant was most enjoyable. I would love to return in the winter sometime when the snow is about.

Simone Wallmer

Excellent customer service, warm and cosy bedroom. Extremely clean! Unlike a hotel we stayed at the night before in Strahan, which we paid triple the price for. We were able to check in just 15 minutes before arriving also, as we were stuck in Queenstown due to snow.
